Carmen and I (Josiah) started our farming journey by trying to provide healthy and nutritious food for our family. It started with a small garden, lots of books and learning about what healthy food is and how to produce it.
Before we knew it, we found ourselves purchasing a 21 Acre farm at auction in Washington Boro. We converted 15 Acres of conventional agriculture into a perennial pasture for livestock. We started raising honeybees, chickens, cattle, and ducks. The garden seems to get bigger every year.
Every year has brought challenges and joys! Neither of us grew up on a farm, so there has been a very steep learning curve. We’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons the hard way. For example, chasing cattle is a great way to learn the value of good fence and calm cattle genetics. 🙂
In 2018 I (Josiah) quit my full time job. We also opened a small farm store selling products we produce on the farm as well as some of our other favorite local products.
It is our mission to produce the healthiest food we can so that our customers can experience the health and healing that comes from food.
We believe that healthy food must be high in vitamins and minerals and should be raised without the use of chemicals. This is why we raise our animals on pasture and use no chemical sprays in the production of our food.
We are so thankful for our customers that help make it possible for us to restore the land and farm in a natural way with no chemicals.
Thank you!
